What
are the differences between the SA, M and K standards?
SA Standard was designed for auto racing while M Standard was for motorcycling
and other motorsports. There are three major differences between them:
- SA standard requires flammability test while the M and K standards does not;
- SA and K standard allows narrower visual field than M standard (Some SA and K helmets may not be street legal);
- SA and K standard has rollbar impact test while M standard does not.
- In addition the SA2015 standard includes a M6 insert for the frontal head restraint.

GP-6S Helmet
•The
GP-6S is designed with the sport driver in mind (hence the "S"
designation). It uses the same shell shape as the GP-6 (PED) and state-of-the-art
GP-6RC, along with the same wider eye port for increased peripheral vision.
The single intake/single exhaust vents provide excellent ventilation performance.
Check the entire list of features and we think you’ll agree: The
only thing missing from Arai’s GP-6S is the higher price tag.
Now Snell SA2015 certified, with the new M6 washer/nut installed at the factory. With the 6mm washer/nut installed, anyone can now easily install a variety of Head and Neck Restraint systems that use a 6mm bolt to their helmet. This helmet also comes with the FIA-8859-2015 certification sticker applied to the interior liner of the helmet.
Simply put, it’s hard to imagine a better racing helmet. Combine Arai’s proprietary, groundbreaking PBcLc (Peripherally Belted Complex Laminate) shell construction -- the same shell shape as the F-1-grid’s GP-6RC model; a wider eye port for optimized peripheral vision; new ventilation; and on and on – and you get the striking new Arai GP-6(PED). The new shell gives you incredible strength and flexibility, and that strength allows Arai to use an extremely soft EPS liner that’s so comfortable it’ll make you think more about a nap than a race. Right until you strap in, that is. The cheek pads are replaceable for a more personal fit. Up top, the ventilation system is greatly improved with three larger, closeable intake vents, plus two larger exhaust cowls.

Arai SK-6
The SK-6 model is based largely on Arai's new GP-6 open wheel auto racing helmets worn by top drivers in the Formula-1, CART, IRL and NASCAR. Utilizing the same shell mould and shield as the GP-6, the SK6 gives the look most desired by Karting racers while incorporating ew nspecific features which function more effectively under Kart racing conditions. Snell KA certified for Karting Competitions.
