We stock and sell the Snell SA Standard of Helmets!

Snell SA2010 (Special Application) approved. The Snell Foundation SA2010 rating has been developed to provide the best safety protection for auto racing drivers who are restrained in their vehicles. An SA2010 rated helmet may not meet DOT specifications for street use, such as on motorcycles.

New for the Snell SA2010 standard is the SAH2010 rating, also known as the FHR (Frontal Head Restraint) Addendum. An SAH2010 rated helmet design has also been tested to withstand loads imposed by a head and neck restraint device, and the helmet will have Snell-approved anchor mounting hardware (but not the anchors) already installed.

What are the differences between the SA, M and K standards?
SA Standard was designed for auto racing while M Standard was for motorcycling and other motorsports. There are three major differences between them:

• SA standard requires flammability test while the M standard does not;
• SA standard allows narrower visual field than M standard (Some SA helmets may not be street legal);
• SA standard has rollbar impact test while M standard does not.
• The K standards are very similar to the SA standards, however the K standards omit the requirements for flame retardency.

Simpson Helmet Sizing Chart

TO ENSURE AN ACCURATE FIT, use this chart to order your correct helmet size. Carefully measure around your head, above the ears. Take the measurement, in inches or centimeters, referring to the sizing chart below for your correct hat/helmet size. Helmet must fit properly for optimum performance. Don't guess your size. Helmet must be securely and snugly fastened before engaging in any activity.

We’ve listened to racers’ needs and added new standard features to the SUPERSPORT in 2009 by adding vents at three points along the crown of the helmet that can be individually opened and closed via toggle switch. This ventilation system keeps your head cool during races and helps to keep your shield fog-free and clear all race long. Constructed from lightweight composites, the SUPERSPORT includes Impact’s fire-retardant, variable-density, single-piece Gray Matter helmet liner, a wide eyeport with a three-position detent 1/8” polycarbonate shield, interchangeable sizing cheekpads and a fire-retardant Kevlar chinstrap with dual D-Ring closure.

The CHARGER is designed with an oversized wrap-around eyeport for a wide-angle panoramic view and an extended chinbar to stabilize the airflow around the helmet. The VAPOR is the result of extensive 3D modeling to create a specially designed "Ripple Effect" aerodynamic boundary layer to stabilize the helmet under high speed airflow, so this is the perfect open-wheel helmet. The VELOCITY features a unique design geometry that optimizes coverage, safety and visibility in an open-face helmet. The visor was designed to have aerodynamic slots that direct airflow and stabilize the helmet in high speed situations. The VELOCITY also has a detent feature built into the design that helps keep goggles centered on the head. It also includes Impact’s fire-retardant, variable density, single-piece Gray Matter helmet liner, interchangeable sizing cheekpads and a fire-retardant Kevlar chinstrap with dual D-Ring closure.
